He has charted in both contemporary Christian and mainstream music, with his biggest crossover hit “Place in This World” reaching No. 6 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1991. Over his career, he has sold more than 18 million albums, won 3 Grammy Awards, 45 Dove Awards, and an American Music Award. Smith is also a worship leader, actor, and founder of Rocketown Records, continuing to influence Christian music globally.
