A Christmas Message

Christmas is a time of giving. As God gave us this world, the opportunities we have for happiness, and as He gave Himself as a baby child born from Mary as a virgin, so we have those things to share among ourselves and to give to others as needed. In God’s wisdom He instructs us to give to and care for those who need it most – the poor, the hungry, the orphan, the widow and the sick. God cares for everyone equally and instructs us to be the solution to the problems that some face by giving what we have, not only in material things but also in our time, attention, consideration and affection.

What we give back to the world from what God has provided us is an important part of our destiny. We see the fruits of that in the work of others contributing to the world daily to provide the things and services that make healthy, happy lives possible. It’s not just our occupations that we give back through, though. We also have our relationships through which we contribute the learning and experiences we have to others in our lives. The example we show of how to be successful is what we can give to anyone watching.

As we consider that, we can think of what we are giving to future generations through the stewardship of this world that God has provided. In creation God gave man dominion over every living thing on Earth. What are the things that will provide continual peace and prosperity to that dominion? As we live our lives and look to God, I pray that we discover many of those things. Amen.
