Abhor all evil. In its presence show it love (Matthew 5:44), the example it must follow to escape the death it leads to. Do not fully comprehend its doings, but know from God the resolution that must come from its existence, which is death (Romans 6:23). Forgive it unquestionably (Matthew 18:22), for that is what God asks of us if we come to Him for forgiveness (Matthew 6:14). Do not seek vengeance against it, for that is God’s responsibility (Romans 12: 19-21). Be patient in its presence, and let God work within its source to heal the problem and teach the way to good. Be prepared for the same evil to return like a dog to its vomit (Proverbs 26:11), not learning from the past. Then remind it of its consequences and let God work again. Resist it by knowing God’s purpose for your life and being in awe of the fulfillments it will bring. Test the spirits that come against you (1 John 4:1). Do they acknowledge Christ as King?
Evil might try to convince you. Resist. (James 4:7)
It might attempt to teach its reasoning that is without God’s purpose. Resist.
It will tell you that you like it. Resist.
It will provoke you to respond in sin. Resist!
Do not be afraid, but fear God’s judgement upon it. Plead with it to stop in the name of Jesus Christ. Keep resisting and forgiving and let God’s victory reign supreme.
