Via Wikipedia & Jesus Freak Hideout: Chasing Furies was an American Christian alternative rock band from Fort Worth, Texas, active in the late 1990s. The band featured siblings Sarah MacIntosh (lead vocals, guitar), Joshua Meeker (guitar, vocals), and Rachel Meeker (piano, vocals), delivering atmospheric, emotive indie rock with poetic lyrics rooted in faith and introspection. Their sole major release, *With Abandon* (1999) on Sparrow Records, blended dreamy melodies, raw emotion, and worshipful themes in tracks like “Thicker,” “I Surrender,” and “Whisper Softly.” Praised for its artistic depth in the Christian music scene, the band disbanded shortly after, with Sarah MacIntosh continuing as a solo artist and worship leader. A hidden gem of late-’90s Christian rock, their music still resonates for its vulnerability and spiritual honesty.

I saw you first before that thick fog overwhelmed you
You came in quickly covering your eyes
So you like it
So you like it

I can’t touch you now
I can’t see you now
Through the haze

But your laughter
It lingers now
You are melting away
And your laughter
It lingers now
You were swept away

I seemed to wait forever for you to return
I think you found someone else to talk to
Maybe someone like me
Someone like me
I call out to you
I reach out to you
Through the haze

But your laughter
It lingers now
You are melting away
And your laughter
It lingers now
You were swept away

Was it something about the clearness here
Was it easy…to accept as it is
Should it be thicker
With more thought about it
Lost before…
Should have recognized the familiar scent of the fog
Drifting in (x7)

Here it comes now…
