Via Wikipedia: Norma Jean is a metalcore band from Douglasville, Georgia, formed in 1997 as Luti-Kriss. Known for their chaotic sound and emotionally raw lyrics, they’ve released nine studio albums including *Bless the Martyr and Kiss the Child*, *O God, the Aftermath*, and *Deathrattle Sing For Me*. The band has undergone numerous lineup changes, with vocalist Cory Brandan leading since 2004. They were nominated for a Grammy in 2006 and continue to tour globally.

Walk around the room with a glaze in your stare
In your tuxedo suit
I will give it a name
Lower your defenses
Lower your casket
Open the door and open your grave
Murder
Now you’re doing the waltz with your murderer
Mediocrity is the killer
You find yourself helpless
Christ is not a fashion, fleeting away
He laid emeralds in her eyes, oh, but I’d already tried
A bracelet made of gold, and scarlet thread around her wrist
And everything was wrong, so we sang sentimental songs
“Oh how seldom we belong, but how elegant our kiss”
And we painted crooked lines, but we danced in perfect time to a love so much refined
We know not what it is, until like a dullen wine we pour into a grief we’d known before
But never quite like this, never quite like this
All I know now is regret
She follows like a silhouette, along the cobbelstone behind me
She has nothing left to say except to innocently ask
In a voice delicate as glass
“Do you see me when we pass?”
But I continue, I continue on my way
